Our PDH team is key to the success of making sure the correct products are at the right location at the right time. Our Primary Distribution Hub services circa 900 Travis Perkins and Benchmarx branches.

As an Operations Manager, you will take ownership of our PM shift operation (core hours 14:00-22:00) and be responsible for circa 130 colleagues, ensuring work is being processed to plan in a safe and professional manner.

Reporting directly to the Senior Warehouse Manager, you and your team of Shift Leaders will be responsible for all operational and people related activity on the PM shift, playing your part to maintain an enjoyable and safe environment for our colleagues to work in, whilst achieving shift key performance targets as a minimum.

The successful candidate will be involved in continuous improvement projects, keen to challenge the ordinary and make sure that ways of working are productive and as effective as possible. Working in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team, you will drive all engagement & wellbeing activities for your team, continuing to deliver a positive culture throughout the team.

Hours of Work: Whilst the core shift pattern is Mon to Fri (14.00 to 22.00) this is a 5 from 7 role with a flexible attitude to ensuring responsibility for the business needs are met. Some weekend and Bank Holiday working may be required.

Requirements:

> Experience of working in a Warehouse/Distribution environment in a management capacity is desirable but not essential, however, proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team is a must. 
> Effective communicator, both written and verbally. Operation Managers must be confident delivering messages and updates to their team which will be in excess of 100+
> Understand the importance of Health and Safety. Can lead from the front to ensure safe working practices are being followed by everyone at all times.
