Location: Lakeside (Northampton)

We, at Travis Perkins are looking for you to join our expanding team as a Transport Planner, based in our Central National Planning Centre in Lakeside (Northampton). You will be accountable for all aspects of planning a busy transport operation, including optimisation of resources, delivery of customer expectations, and health and safety. Working to tight deadlines you will maintain a clear focus upon priorities at all times.


As part of the role responsibilities, you will handle multiple customer delivery requests, by channelling the communication correctly to relevant colleagues and be able to demonstrate a thorough understand of supply chain and related processes. As a Transport Planner, you will also be accountable for delivering a world class end to end customer journey, liaising with issues out on the road and maintaining relationships with team members across branches within the business.


What you need to know:

  • We happen to like complexity with the TP Group and due to the sheer size of our business and branches you will be supporting, it would be great if you have experience in using Paragon Planning System for either designing operations or through live application, coupled with the experience of working in a real time live tracking environment.

  • Excellent organisation skills and your savvy analytical approach will be utilised on a daily basis, along side your strong communication skills.

  • Previous experience within a Transport/Fleet or Merchanting background and be commercially aware will be essential, due to getting the ground running within our expanding team.

  • It would be desirable, but not essential to be qualified to CPC standard.


Occasional travel is required with this position - due to this, a UK Driving license and own transport is required.
