Shift Manager
Location - Kingswinford

How important is this role to the business
Joining our friendly and hard working family as an Shift Manager, you will ensure the efficient running of the Kingswinford branch, safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment. You will be responsible for the day to day operation of the AM shift at the Kingswinford branch, leading, motivating and engaging the team to operate safely at all times whilst delivering excellent customer service, performance and operational excellence in all areas.
What will I be doing?
The Kingswinford branch opening hours are Monday to Friday between the hours of 06:00 – 20:00 and Saturday 07:00 – 12:00. Colleagues work across 2 shifts, generally, these are 06:00 - 14:00 and 12:00 - 20:00. Your role will usually cover the earlier shift Monday - Friday and every other Saturday. You may be required to work different hours occasionally.
You will work closely with the Transport Manager, Stock Controller, Shift Supervisor and Branch Managers to ensure that the service offered to our customers is exceptional.
You will look to develop yourself, your colleagues and the operation to become ‘best in class’ through continuous improvements to the operation and the service provided
Experience of using a forklift is ideal, but don't worry full training is provided
Safety is at the forefront of everything we do, your aim will be to ensure that our standards never slip, this means maintaining a tidy and safe working environment at all times
What skills do you need?
As a part of the management team you will need to be able to delegate successfully and empower your colleagues to take accountability and lead areas of the Kingswinford branch, have excellent communication and organisational skills, able to make good commercial decisions and have the ability to produce and interpret basic financial/statistical information as well as maintaining excellent customer service skills.
It would be advantageous if you came from a Merchanting background but we will offer full product training.
