Job Description

We, at Travis Perkins have a varied and influential opportunity for a commercially focused individual to join our General Merchanting Pricing Team. Within this role you will work with the Category Pricing Manager in identifying, assessing and executing both price changes and communication of prices to allow the business to deliver its margin and price perception aspirations.

You will implement pricing strategies which will have a big impact of the future of our business. This will be achieved by owing and leading initiatives such as our price investment programme and cost price inflation passthrough. These activities will ensure the delivery of consistent and competitive prices for our colleagues and customers.

Key Accountabilities in the role  

Using key pricing and statistical models, you will analyse underlying data trends to identify risks and opportunities that could affect the achievement of business objectives.

As an expert in your field, you will share your passion for excellence and act as a mentor to a team of pricing analysts which will require strong people management and coaching skills.

  • Manage and own analytical projects; leveraging data from multiple sources including competitor matches, TP sales and pricing data. Shape and deliver key performance metrics which help the business understand and improve category profitability, sales and customer appeal.

  • Create and deliver insightful analysis which creates actionable insights which drives improved business performance

  • Provide solutions to challenges which produce a holistic approach to the strategy of an entire category

  • You will be a source of analytical support to the wider pricing team, being prepared to provide analytical training to develop the capabilities to those that require them.

  • Continuously challenge current processes and recommend improvements to all aspects of pricing.

It would be great if you had experience in

Proven experience in a pricing or revenue management environment you will have an affinity for data, confidently translating complex data sets into simple and actionable presentations. Your keen eye for detail and excellent commercial acumen mean you will be able to handle the data to drive decisions and spot opportunities to add value and improve business performance.  

Due to the demands of this role, the successful candidate will need to have strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills with a diverse range of key stakeholders. As well as working as part of a team, you will be comfortable working independently using your own initiative and have an ability to manage multiple work demands in a fast paced growth environment.
