Regional Sales Director - Travis Perkins



The Role

Reporting to the Managing Director - Sales for Travis Perkins, you will be leading a team of 8 direct reports with a sizeable sales budget. You will be responsible for the Scotland and North region with a primary focus on driving the development and delivery of increasingly ambitious profitable sales plans for the region, through first-class leadership of all sales teams and the development of fantastic working relationships with existing and potential customers and suppliers.


Key Requirements

  • Support the businesses stay safe policies for ALL sales force colleagues and customers.

  • Manage and develop key staff within the sales team. Ensure management skills are enhanced where appropriate and suitable succession planning is adopted.

  • Ensure the resource is best structured and utilised to maximise sales and profit opportunities across all areas of the Region

  • Proactively work on further developing the region's share of the market, by means of fully optimising all major business opportunities. Take an active support role in the Region's high-level negotiations and bid submissions for major framework agreements / new high-value supply contracts

  • Develop and maintain a close working relationship with the region's top 25 platinum customers - in order to ensure we have a clear account management strategy with each key customer to maximise all sales opportunities, whilst maintaining a high degree of personal contact with the key decision makers within each of these businesses

  • Continually evolve and develop a clear “selling” strategy for branch-based colleagues

  • Full responsibility of all nationally agreed customer rebates are to be negotiated/managed effectively to provide clear financial benefit to the business

  • Ensure the Region's customer events programme is managed effectively to enhance relationships, in order to support sales growth with key customers

  • In liaison with the Region's Tool Hire & Managed Services Management teams, continue to forge stronger ties, ensuring a good flow of information and opportunities with key customers & sub-contractors are maximised

  • On an annual basis, in conjunction with the Region's businesses, establish and execute an AOP in line with company expectations for the defined customer base/areas of operation
