Regional Learning & Development Coach - Travis Perkins Location - Covering Scotland & North England


The Regional Learning & Development Coach is a new and exciting opportunity.  This is a field-based role within our Tool Hire businesses, focussing on identifying training needs and the design, delivery, evaluation and improvement of operational learning & development to support business growth and enhance the customer experience.


You should ideally be based within the area which extends from Yorkshire and Greater Manchester in the South, up to Central Scotland. Much of our support is delivered at a distance, but you will be visiting branches a couple of days per week. You should expect to spend some nights away from home as well as occasionally working further afield for meetings and your own training.

What will I be doing?


No one day is the same, here are a few pointers:

  • Developing and delivering multi-channel learning & development to achieve specified learning objectives and behaviour changes and to provide self-help resources at the point of need. Seeking more efficient and cost-effective solutions to training and minimising wasteful tasks.
  • Working with other Coaches and the L&D Manager to support the achievement of business objectives. Proactively looking for ways to continuously improve the colleague experience and ease of use of the learning resources.
  • Communicating with stakeholders at all levels to ensure engagement with both ongoing learning and ad-hoc projects. Supporting, coaching and mentoring colleagues through structured development programmes to maximise their potential
  • Networking and developing relationships with internal and external partners & stakeholders to optimise training, communication, efficiency and keep content up-to-date. Actively progressing their own continual professional development.
  • Supporting Operational Management and leadership by providing expert advice while coaching and developing their commercial, process and product knowledge

What experience do you need?

  • Thorough knowledge of our Tool Hire Business is essential.
  • Previous experience in training, facilitation or coaching role would be advantageous, but not essential.
