Location: Remote working, regular visits to branches across the business
You will be currently working as a HSE advisor, HSE specialist, Health and Safety advisor who is looking to take the next step in your career, and implement change.
What you’ll do
As one of the HSE Improvement Specialists you will be supporting our Tool Hire Operation within Travis Perkins to deliver their Annual HSE Improvement plan. You will be involved in scoping, researching, developing and delivering a number of HSE Improvement Programmes related to our key risk areas, mainly Plant Safety, Workshop safety and Delivery Point Activities. You will ensure any improvement programmes are well thought through and have the buy-in of the various stakeholder groups.
Within the role it will be important to use robust programme management techniques to ensure activities are delivered in line with agreed expectations of the Business Leadership Teams.
Alongside the HSE Director for Travis Perkins, you will also provide hands on support to our Tool Hire Leadership Teams, helping them to understand the trends in their business and acting as their HSE conscience to ensure we are driving continual improvement of HSE culture and performance.
Is this you?
Previous experience within the Plant and Hire Industry or a good understanding of electrical, petrol and diesel equipment would be advantageous, but not essential. It doesn't matter what sector you come from, if you can demonstrate how your experience and skills would be transferable to our industry.
Given the risk levels of our businesses we are particularly keen to hear from HSE professionals that hold a minimum of a NEBOSH General Certificate and at least TechIOSH status. To be considered for this role you will ideally have 2 years plus post qualification experience in a medium to high risk business and have a proven track record of delivering HSE improvement & behavioural change programmes.
Within this role you will need to be an excellent communicator where you can build relationships with senior leaders and our frontline colleagues working both remotely and within our branch operations.
Other attributes you might have is an engaging style, strong influencer, with high levels of personal resilience, energy and drive.
