Are you passionate about finance and looking for an exciting and challenging role? We have an opportunity for a Finance Business Partner to join our Travis Perkins team based in Northampton to work closely with our Commercial team. 

What you’ll do
You will provide support, challenge and be an important part of the Commercial Leadership team to help to allow the business to maximise opportunities and mitigate risk. Contributing to the wider finance function, you’ll work closely with the Head of Finance to provide high quality commercial and financial support to allow for improved decision making, understanding of performance drivers and actionable business intelligence. You’ll also:

  • Be a key part of the Commercial Leadership Team, representing finance in partnership of the Commercial Director and his direct reports
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly reporting of Sales performance to allow the Commercial Leadership Team to understand and manage their performance
  • Represent finance on the weekly trading meetings in partnership with the Category Director and his direct reports
  • Monthly Management Performance Packs
  • Identify opportunities to maximise performance through increased revenue and margin, reduced cost, or optimised use of capital assets
  • Work with the Commercial Team to build budgets and 5 year plans, and supporting the Commercial Finance Manager in the delivery of the annual Budgeting Process for Commercial
  • Commercial support on supplier projects & tenders
  • Guidance, support and tracking of price investments and range reviews

Is this you?
To be considered you’ll need to be a qualified/part qualified accountant, ideally with business partnering experience. We are looking for you to be able to build strong rapport with the team whilst not being afraid to challenge where required. We will also need you to be commercially focussed, and able to communicate across the business with both finance and non-finance people.
