We are currently looking for an ambitious, part qualified Commercial Finance Analyst to join our Travis Perkins team based in Northampton. Providing analytical support to our commercial teams, you will be joining a dedicated, high performing team, where you will help drive the best financial and commercial decisions to deliver optimal results. 

Your ambition to succeed will help achieve this by the delivery of accurate, consistent and insightful reports that drive performance within the division. You will also provide support in the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes to provide clarity on the commercial strategy and key strategic initiatives.

What you’ll do
  • Support the development of standard monthly and weekly KPI reporting 
  • Deliver quality reporting and analytical outputs to fixed deadlines
  • Support the month end close process by preparing journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support the production of the monthly board pack to provide the senior team with a suite of information that can be used to drive actionable insights
  • Ensure that relevant key market intelligence information is regularly collected to support decision making and to help evaluate business performance and future strategy and planning processes
  • Challenge current processes and recommend improvements to all aspects of reporting and analysis. Strive to improve current processes and reduce time on data production, so analysis becomes the key focus
  • Plan and manage small scale projects to improve reporting processes or investigate reasons behind performance variances

Is this you?
We will need you to have the confidence to build strong relationships, turn data into tangible information for the team, and recommend changes to reports where necessary. You will be a highly motivated, proactive, and a self-starter! Along with the above, you’ll also have:

  • Part Qualified – ACCA / CIMA / ACA
  • Strong Excel skills and comfortable working with large volumes of data
  • Experience in the preparation of financial management reports
  • Commercial acumen, Sales and Margin awareness
  • Great communication skills
