Job Description

We, at Travis Perkins have an opportunity for you to join the team as a Buying Assistant. As a valued part of the Category Team, you will provide admin support to the Category Management team and most importantly be the first point of contact for our branches and suppliers.

What you’ll do
  • Support the Category Managers in delivering the Category strategy to deliver growth in sales, profit and market share in line with the 3 year plan
  • Support branches by ensuring system accuracy, timely responses to branch requests, and provide a frontline contact for branch colleagues as required
  • Produce reports and ensure accurate data is provided to help understand the trading performance of our  categories and customers and therefore any action required
  • Support the Category Managers in managing the supplier base to ensure they meet all of our key performance requirements including compliance, data, DealTrack and administration of supplier terms
  • Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to execute commercial projects across the business 
  • Work with the Category Manager and Product Supply to ensure the timely and accurate availability of stock for promotions and range reviews
  • Work with Data Management and internal stakeholders to ensure our product descriptions, images, prices and data is accurate and customer focussed

Is this you?
Previous experience isn’t essential. We will need you to be great with numbers, sharp with data and able to balance lots of different tasks at the same time! As part of a hard working and friendly team, you will need the confidence to build relationships, be prepared to work at pace and most of all not be afraid to get stuck in.
