Ashleigh, Sales Assistant (Management Apprentice)

23 Jul
I started off my career in B&Q Derby for four years,i decided i needed a change and moved over to Travis Perkins in Ilkeston with my Manager James Topliss. We had previously worked together so we knew we would make a great team!

My current job role is sales assistant in the office. I serve with customers face to face and on the phone.

The Travis Perkins apprenticeship looked appealing to me as i am looking to further my career from an assistant role to a managerial role.Travis Perkins offers apprenticeships whilst you work which is a great opportunity to earn and learn!

I have found it to be a very good, enthusiastic apprenticeship programme. The staff and mentors are very friendly and willing to help. The work is very clear and relevant to the scheme.

My favourite part of the apprenticeship is the workshops. I really enjoy meeting the other apprentices and catching up with out work together. We have a good laugh in my group and always seem to thoroughly enjoy the workshops.

I think Travis is a very laid back, friendly place to work. I really enjoy the perks and benefits of working here. The customers are extremely approachable and kind and i really enjoy serving them. I find Travis Perkins has a good relationship with each branch and work as a team to provide the best service for our customers.
